Our Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy

Utopia Carnival Cruise & Festival (UCC&F, “us”, “we”, or “our”) is staunchly dedicated to safeguarding your privacy. We aim to provide you with comprehensive information about our data handling practices. This Privacy Notice outlines the way we collect, store, use, and disclose your personal data when you interact with our website(s), mobile services (referred to as “site(s)”), and when you use our products, services, and participate in our events such as cruises, vacations, or resorts. By accessing or utilizing our site(s), products, or services, you confirm that you have read, comprehended, and consent to our data management practices as outlined in this Privacy Notice.

Data Collection

We collect personal data that you willingly share with us when you browse our site(s), make inquiries about or use our products and services.

Information collected during event booking may include your name, address, gender, date of birth, email address, phone number, special occasion dates, event preferences, dietary preferences, and passport details. We may also collect emergency contact information – name, address, and phone number of a person not traveling with you, whom we can contact in case of an emergency. Furthermore, subject to your explicit consent, we might gather sensitive personal information such as health requirements. In this Privacy Notice, we refer to this information as ‘Profile Information’.

The Profile Information we collect may pertain to you and others traveling with you. When you provide us with a third party’s Profile Information, you assert that you have their consent to do so and that they have been informed about this Privacy Notice.

Personal information may be required or given in several sections on our site(s). It might be necessary to register to gain access to specific online services not available to anonymous visitors. This includes site(s) login, filling out a new reservation form, or completing an online reservation.

When making purchases through our site(s), we will collect your contact information, including your phone number, email address, credit card information (cardholder name, card number, and expiration date) and details about the recipient of the product or service purchased. We may also keep a record of your purchases.

Usage of the Collected Information

We primarily use the information we collect for legitimate business interests such as: providing improved customer service, tailoring our services to meet your needs and preferences (e.g., if you need a wheelchair or have specific dietary preferences), contacting you about promotions and new products, and other purposes detailed in this Privacy Notice.

We process your personal information to fulfill our contract with you, such as providing the products, services, or membership benefits you request. We also adhere to legal obligations as outlined in this Privacy Notice (for instance, providing certain data to recognized law enforcement agencies and government bodies).

Your credit card information is used to finalize your purchase. We may keep your credit card and passport details on file to facilitate additional services booking, ease onboard purchases, expedite your boarding process, and resolve any disputes that might occur between us.

Your personal data may be used to communicate with you and respond to your inquiries. With your permission, we may occasionally contact you with information we believe would be of interest to you, such as updates about our services, news, and promotions. Our communications will also include exclusive benefits, personalized offers, and event invitations. We might use your email address to notify you about upcoming events and other UCC&F news, or to share information from companies we have marketing partnerships with.

We do not retain personal information longer than necessary for these purposes and as required by law. Please refer to the section on Disclosing Information to Third Parties for more details about who we share your data with.

Automated Data Collection or Storage

We automatically collect specific usage data when you visit the Site(s), engage with our emails or us. For instance, we use cookies to gain a better understanding of how you use our Site and to enhance your user experience. We employ several methods to collect this usage data.

A cookie is a small text file with alphanumeric characters that is placed on your device. It uniquely identifies your browser and helps us log you in faster and improve your navigation through the Site. Cookies can provide information about how you use the Site(s), such as the pages you view, the links you click, the frequency of your access, and other actions you take on the Site(s). They also enable us to track your Site(s) usage over time.

Log file data can include anonymous data like your web request, IP address, browser type, mobile device information, referring/exit pages and URLs, click numbers, and your interactions with Site(s) links, domain names, landing pages, page views, and similar data.

Embedded scripts are programming code designed to gather data about your interactions with the Site(s), such as clicked links. The code is temporarily downloaded from our web server or a third-party service provider onto your device. It is only active while you are connected to the Site(s) and is deactivated or deleted afterward.

Browser fingerprinting involves collecting and analyzing information from your device, such as your operating system, plug-ins, system fonts, and other data, to identify your browser and device.

Entity tags (ETags) are part of the cache in your device’s browser. They are opaque identifiers given by a web server to a specific version of a resource found at a URL. If the resource content at that URL changes, a new, unique ETag is assigned. Used this way, ETags serve as a form of device identifier. ETag tracking can produce unique tracking values even when HTTP, Flash, and HTML5 cookies are blocked.

Recognition technologies utilize statistical probability tools on data sets to make assumptions or recognize users and devices. This information helps us identify you across various devices you may use, analyze and improve the Site(s), and present you with information based on these assumptions.

When you access the Site(s) through a mobile device, we may receive or collect and store unique identification numbers associated with your device or our mobile application (e.g., UDID, IDFA, Google Ad ID, or Windows Advertising ID), mobile carrier, device type, model and manufacturer, mobile device operating system brand and model, phone number, and depending on your mobile device settings, geographical location data, including GPS coordinates (e.g., latitude and/or longitude) or similar information about your mobile device’s location.

How do we use the automatically collected or stored information?

We use the collected data, including any personal information, for our legitimate business interests, specifically to: (a) remember information so you don’t have to re-enter it; (b) provide personalized advertising; (c) identify and recognize you across multiple devices; (d) provide and monitor the Site(s) effectiveness; (e) monitor aggregate metrics such as total visitor numbers, traffic, usage, and demographic patterns on our website and the Site(s); (f) diagnose or fix technology problems; and (g) plan for and enhance our services and Site(s). For more information, please see the Online Advertising section below.

The data collected by the methods mentioned above may be transmitted to and stored on servers in the United States. While we strive to respect our users’ privacy preferences, we are currently unable to respond to Do Not Track signals set by your browser.

If you prefer not to accept cookies, most browsers will allow you to: (i) change your browser settings to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the choice to accept it or not; (ii) disable existing cookies; or (iii) set your browser.

This could include your profile information, user ID related to your social media account, profile name, profile picture, country, and any additional data that you allow the social media platform to share with third parties. The data we gather depends on your social media privacy settings. We never post any information regarding you on any third-party social media platform without your approval. It’s always a good idea to examine and modify your privacy settings on third-party sites and services before linking or connecting them to our Service or website. We utilize this data to understand our customer demographics better, to connect with you on social media platforms, and to enhance our Services, our site(s), and the customer experience.

Please note that photographers and camera crew will be present at our events to capture photos and videos for our promotional use. Although they are willing to take reasonable measures to avoid filming or photographing you if you express your preference, we cannot guarantee that you will not be incidentally included unless you notify us.

Some onboard products and services, excursions, and other activities are provided by partner companies. For the seamless provision of services to our passengers, we may share essential personal information with these partners before, during, and after your cruise, such as the ability to charge purchases to passengers’ onboard accounts. These companies have their own privacy policies, which should be referred to if you decide to use their services.
